Can probiotics help with horses that “tie-up”?

Yes, for the same reasons as above with regard to laminitis except with horses suffering azoturia the endotoxins cause muscle spasms in the main muscle masses and usually follows vigorous exercise. Much more work needs to be done to realise the exact relationship but the hypothesis is strong and anecdotally the addition of probiotics to an individuals diet known to suffer from set-fast appears to provide relief.
