Can probiotics help horses that have colic or are prone to colicing?

Probiotics can help and are indicated in the prevention of colic but that is no guarantee and if a horse shows signs of colic, veterinary attention should be sought as soon as possible. Maintaining and promoting a healthy gut microflora  with a good probiotic is a useful way of helping those horses prone to colic.
